We finally completed our home gym during quarantine! If the gym being closed for over four months and preparing to have our hands full with a newborn weren’t signs that we needed to get our basement gym complete, I don’t know what would have given us the motivation. When the gyms first closed back in March, I had purchased some additional equipment for our basement gym setup that came in handy very quickly. After realizing that we were going to be at home for much longer than two weeks, we had a bit of panic and tried to purchase a squat rack. Along with everyone else. That order was canceled…

My Fitness Journey
I finally got around to filming my fitness journey which I shared on my YouTube channel. Since I’ve been sharing my fitness journey here on my blog for many years, I thought I’d share the video here as well. I anted to share my fitness journey on my YouTube when I first launched my channel in late 2019, but after I found out I was pregnant much of my content and focus on fitness change. This video is to share my journey over the past 7+ years and to have as a reference when I get back into a routine after baby girl arrives and I recover from delivery.

a few thrift hauls
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on my blog and honestly, I’ve been focusing on my YouTube channel. When we first started self-isolation back in March, I really started working on video ideas to build up my channel’s videos. It’s been my long-term goal to start a YouTube channel so it’s been where I’ve been putting the majority of extra time. Be sure to subscribe to keep up on my journey! We’re also in full nesting mode around our house as we prepare for our Baby Girl! Check out this post if you missed the announcement. I’m 31 weeks when I’m posting this so we’re in the home stretch…

fitness & health update | spring 2019
There’s been a lot of changes in my fitness routine and health in the past six months or so. I made a number of changes at the beginning of the year, which have increased my overall wellness and confidence. I’ve also had to come to terms with taking the route of surgery (something I never wanted to do) for the sake of my long-term health. Firstly, at the beginning of 2019 I removed a lot of processed carbs and grains from my diet. I’m not going to lie, I was hesitant to make this change and doubted how it was going to impact how I felt. I was proven wrong.…

5 things i no longer buy
I’ve been making a lot of changes in my life the past few months. If you’ve been following me, you’ll know that last year I went on a budget to pay off my debt. With that, I’ve become more mindful with my purchases and overall consuming less. At first, I quit fast fashion moving towards buying the majority of my clothes second hand. Shopping second hand for clothing has opened my mind to other items from my daily routine that are simply unneeded or aren’t bringing value to my life. And if there is something I’m in need of, there’s usually a selection at the thrift store I can browse…

4 Things I’ve Learned on My Fitness Journey
It’s the start of a new year, a popular time to begin a fitness journey. New Year, New Me – am I right? I’ve been on my own personal fitness journey for over four years now. And along the way I’ve learned a lot about exercises and programming, nutrition, and myself as a person. It’s this knowledge that I want to share with others so that they too can find success in their own fitness journey. Fitness is more of a lifestyle now than it is a journey. I love being active and sharing my story with others. As you get started on your journey, it’s important to remember the…
