We finally completed our home gym during quarantine! If the gym being closed for over four months and preparing to have our hands full with a newborn weren’t signs that we needed to get our basement gym complete, I don’t know what would have given us the motivation. When the gyms first closed back in March, I had purchased some additional equipment for our basement gym setup that came in handy very quickly. After realizing that we were going to be at home for much longer than two weeks, we had a bit of panic and tried to purchase a squat rack. Along with everyone else. That order was canceled…

My Fitness Journey
I finally got around to filming my fitness journey which I shared on my YouTube channel. Since I’ve been sharing my fitness journey here on my blog for many years, I thought I’d share the video here as well. I anted to share my fitness journey on my YouTube when I first launched my channel in late 2019, but after I found out I was pregnant much of my content and focus on fitness change. This video is to share my journey over the past 7+ years and to have as a reference when I get back into a routine after baby girl arrives and I recover from delivery.

fitness & health update | spring 2019
There’s been a lot of changes in my fitness routine and health in the past six months or so. I made a number of changes at the beginning of the year, which have increased my overall wellness and confidence. I’ve also had to come to terms with taking the route of surgery (something I never wanted to do) for the sake of my long-term health. Firstly, at the beginning of 2019 I removed a lot of processed carbs and grains from my diet. I’m not going to lie, I was hesitant to make this change and doubted how it was going to impact how I felt. I was proven wrong.…

4 Things I’ve Learned on My Fitness Journey
It’s the start of a new year, a popular time to begin a fitness journey. New Year, New Me – am I right? I’ve been on my own personal fitness journey for over four years now. And along the way I’ve learned a lot about exercises and programming, nutrition, and myself as a person. It’s this knowledge that I want to share with others so that they too can find success in their own fitness journey. Fitness is more of a lifestyle now than it is a journey. I love being active and sharing my story with others. As you get started on your journey, it’s important to remember the…

My Favorite Gym Accessories
As we approach the new year, I’m on the hunt for a new gym bag. My favorite purple Adidas bag I snagged on eBay few years ago is hitting the bricks. I’m looking for a bag that’s slightly larger than what I have now to better accommodate my clothes and collection of gym accessories I’ve built over the years. Gym accessories are not required for success, but I do have some favorites that I rely on for nearly every workout! If you have a gym membership, then your facility should be providing the majority of what you need to get a workout in. However, sometimes you may prefer having your…

At-Home Quad Circuit
Ah, summer. You keep me so busy. I love summer and truly appreciate all that it offers given Minnesota’s polarizing seasons. But that doesn’t make my schedule during summer any less crazy. August has especially been very busy with summer coming to a closed, preparing for a vacation, and having a huge project at work I’ve had to be creative with some of my workouts. I started doing an at-home cardio circuit a few months back when Minnesota’s spring was teasing us and I’ve stuck with it pretty consistently. Now I’m getting creative with my lifts, including this at-home quad circuit, so I can make the most of the time.…
